17th March 2010 – Monthly Meeting, CREEC 7pm
Every 3rd Wednesday of the month, members of The Moreton Bay Koala Rescue get together to discuss issues relating to the group and koalas/wildlife. We welcome all members to join this meeting and have an iinput.
Rescuers Meeting – This is held just prior to the main meeting at 6:30pm for the current rescue teams to discuss rescue issues.
To save the koala, the time to act is NOW !!
Koala habitat in South-East Queensland is being destroyed and cleared at an alarming rate.
In order to stop the rapid decline of our local koala population, we each need to write to the Premier Hon. Anna Bligh, MPs, Regional Councils Mayors and Councillors imploring them to use their power and to hear the call of their constituents and mandate to stop the decimation of koala habitat by developers.
We have prepared a letter and a list of email addresses to make it easy for you.
Clear instructions are at the top of the letter. Click Here to Down Load the Letter (It is in Microsoft Word Format).
Feel free to print or pass this on to everyone in your address book.
Change of Name
We used to be called Caboolture Koala Care and Rescue Inc, but now we are officially Moreton Bay Koala Rescue Inc.
Why the change?
Well the reason is that for quite some time we have been rescuing Koalas in all areas of the New Moreton Bay Region including Caboolture, Redcliffe and Pine Rivers. Also it reflects our current membership, as we have members from all these areas wanting to help rescue the dwindling Koala population in this area. After much discussion we felt it was about time we changed our name to reflect who we are and what we do.
